Provide spiritual leadership to Ebenezer Church and minister to its congregation through:
Shepherding the church through preaching and helming the teaching ministry
Ministering to the spiritual needs of Ebenezer Church’s members
Directing evangelising efforts
Personal Qualifications
Baptised Christian with a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Called to pastoral ministry
Fulfils the biblical requirements for an elder in accordance with 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
Not a recent convert, having a mature Christ-like spirit and character.
Be committed to preaching and teaching God’s word accurately and exegetically, and committed to discipleship, prayer, and above reproach in his personal, family, and congregational conduct.
Have a godly character and passion to care, protect, and correct members in love and restore them; and maintain unity in the body.
Committed to serving and equipping members to live holy lives and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
A faithful member of another bible-believing church for at least 3 years, and to be recommended by his church leaders.
Fluent in English and able to understand or conversant in Chinese.
Doctrinal Conviction
His doctrine must be in alignment with Reformed Baptist doctrines and practices as laid out in the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith.
Educational Requirements
Formal education and training from an accredited and reputable theological college recognized by Protestant Christians is preferred, but not compulsory.
